SAN JACINTO: Man shot Thanksgiving day

SAN JACINTO – Very few details have been released regarding a man who was reportedly shot Thanksgiving day, Thursday, Nov. 24. The shooting happened in the 300 block of Santo Drive near S. Jordan Avenue in San Jacinto.

Deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s San Jacinto Police Station responded to a 911 call reporting an assault with a deadly weapon about 2 p.m.

When they arrived, deputies located a man suffering from an unspecified gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local hospital by ground ambulance with non-life threatening injuries, according to sheriff’s officials.

The full extent of the victim’s injuries or his current condition are not known and a motive for the shooting has not been released by sheriff’s officials.

Deputies are conducting an investigation into the incident, which is active and ongoing.

Trevor Montgomery spent 10 years in the U.S. Army as an Orthopedic Specialist before joining the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department in 1998. He was medically retired after losing his leg in an off-duty accident.

Trevor has been married for more than 26 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and has 13 children and 12 – soon to be 13 – grandchildren.
