JURUPA VALLEY: Man arrested after Eastvale vehicle theft

JURUPA VALLEY – Deputies arrested a Jurupa Valley resident after he allegedly stole a 1999 Honda Civic from the 5400 block of Highbury Way in Eastvale Monday, Nov. 28.

About five hours after the vehicle theft was reported, deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Jurupa Valley Special Enforcement Team located the car. It was parked near a vacant lot at 37th and Wallace Streets in Jurupa Valley, Deputy V. Ramirez explained in a press release.

During their investigation, deputies identified and located Gabriel Lucas, 22, of Jurupa Valley. Lucas was already on probation for previous crimes. SET deputies arrested Lucas in connection with the stolen vehicle.

During their investigation, deputies discovered Lucas was in possession of burglary tools and narcotics.

He was booked for suspicion of vehicle theft, possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of burglary tools, possession of a controlled substance, and a probation violation.

A jail record search revealed Lucas was being held on $50,000 bail. He is scheduled to be arraigned at the Riverside Hall of Justice Nov. 30.
