NUEVO: Sleepy driver’s car overturns, smashes into home
NUEVO – Officials are blaming driver fatigue in an early-morning, single-vehicle, rollover accident that happened Saturday, Dec. 3. The accident occurred in the 29500 block of Nuevo Road near Lakeview Avenue in Nuevo.
California Highway Patrol responded to the reported rollover after it was reported to officials at 3:40 a.m.
Residents at the home were woken by the sound of the car smashing into their home. A front window of the home was broken by flying debris. Nobody from inside the residence was injured in the rollover accident.
When officers and other emergency first responders arrived they found a sedan that had overturned in the front yard of a residence. The vehicle smashed into the home before coming to rest on its roof.
The driver and sole-occupant sustained minor injuries. Paramedic/firefighters and AMR medics treated the victim at the scene and he declined further medical treatment.
CHP officials are investigating the crash, which is still active and ongoing.

Trevor Montgomery spent 10 years in the U.S. Army as an Orthopedic Specialist before joining the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department in 1998. He was medically retired after losing his leg in an off-duty accident.

Trevor has been married for more than 26 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and has 13 children and 12 – soon to be 13 – grandchildren.
