RIVERSIDE: Perris man who robbed women after meeting them online arrested

RIVERSIDE – A man who allegedly used a popular online dating site to meet women and then rob them was arrested Monday, Dec. 5.

Oscar “Manny” Mandujano-Quinonez was arrested for stealing from women he was meeting through an online dating site.

During an investigation conducted by Riverside police officers and detectives assigned to the department’s Central Neighborhood Policing Center, officials identified Oscar Mandujano-Quinonez, 29, of Perris.

Riverside police officials began their investigation into Mandujano’s alleged criminal activities after they received a complaint in mid-November after he met with a female he met online.

While inside his car, described as a silver Saturn, “Mandujano created a ruse to get the victim to step out of the car,” according to Riverside police officials. “Once the victim exited the vehicle, Mandujano fled at a high rate of speed with the victim’s purse and belongings still inside his vehicle.”

During their investigation Riverside police officers learned there was at least one other victim in addition to their own and that a warrant had already been issued for Mandujano’s arrest. The other known incident happened with a different victim in the City of Moreno Valley last summer.

As part of their investigation, Riverside police officials set up a sting to apprehend Mandujano at a local park.

Police and sheriffs officials are seeking other women they believe Mandujano victimized.

Mandujano, who also reportedly also goes by the name “Manny,” was arrest at Anza Narrows Park after he went to the park believing he was going to meet a potential victim he had been communicating with online.

After his arrest, Mandujano was charged with two counts of grand theft and booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center.

During their investigation Riverside police officials had learned Mandujano listed his victim’s stolen property for sale on a popular online site. After his arrest, detectives searched Mandujano’s Perris residence, where they found evidence from the Riverside victim as well as property from additional women who are also believed to be Mandujano’s victims.

Officials believe there are additional, unidentified women whom Mandujano has victimized and they are asking for any other victims to step forward and contact them.

A jail record search revealed Mandujano was released from jail the morning after his arrest after he posted $10,000 bail. His arraignment is scheduled at the Riverside Hall of Justice Feb. 6.
