PALM DESERT: Officials investigating Christmas day murder
PALM DESERT – Few details have been released after a man was fatally shot at a residence Christmas day, Sunday, Dec. 25. The deadly shooting happened in the 43400 block of Illinois Avenue in Palm Desert.
Deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Palm Desert station responded to the residence about 4:00 p.m., after receiving reports of gunfire and a subject shot inside a residence, according to Riverside Sheriff’s Sergeant Raymond Huskey.
When deputies arrived at the home they found a victim suffering from a gunshot wound. Medics transported the victim by ambulance to a local hospital for further treatment. The victim succumbed to his injuries and he was pronounced dead by hospital staff.
The identity of the victim has been withheld pending notification of his family.
Based on the circumstances, investigators from the Palm Desert Station and the Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit responded and assumed the investigation.
“The investigation is ongoing and no further information will be released at this time,” Huskey stated.

Trevor has been married for more than 26 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and has 13 children and 12 – soon to be 13 – grandchildren.
