BEAUMONT: Officials asking for public’s help in burglary-related shooting

BEAUMONT – Officials are still seeking the public’s assistance in obtaining information or home surveillance footage that might shed light on the circumstances that led to a shooting incident Tuesday, Jan. 3. The shooting happened in the 1300 block of Blooms Day Way near Wildflower Park in the Sundance community in Beaumont.

City of Beaumont emergency dispatchers received a call about 12:12 a.m., regarding a possible residential burglary and shooting at the location.

When officers arrived, they learned from the homeowner that several rounds had been fired, possibly in response to an assault by a suspected intruder.

A heavy police presence was visible Tuesday morning, as officials and a police K9 combed the area searching for the alleged suspect and evidence to the reported crime.

Officials have not identified a possible suspect yet and no description of the suspect has been provided.

Officers are still investigating the incident; however, no additional witnesses have come forward to provide any information or suspect leads to detectives regarding a possible suspect.

“Detectives are once again asking area residents to check their surveillance systems and report any information or tips they may have about this incident to the police department detectives,” a police official explained in a press release about the incident and ongoing investigation.

Anyone with information about this investigation is encouraged to contact the Beaumont Police Department at (951) 769-8500. Tips can also be sent in anonymously at [email protected].
