SAN JACINTO – A bicyclist was injured after being struck by a vehicle Friday, Jan. 13. The major-injury traffic collision happened in the 2100 block of S. San Jacinto Avenue between Midway Street and E. Menlo Avenue in San Jacinto.
Deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s San Jacinto Police station and Cal Fire/Riverside County firefighters were dispatched to the scene of the major-injury accident about 5:49 p.m., after a witness called 911 to report the accident.
The first deputy arrived at the scene less than three minutes after the call was dispatched. Other emergency first responders began arriving shortly afterwards.
After he arrived, the deputy found the bicyclist still down on the ground screaming in pain. The deputy updated that the victim was conscious, but bleeding and injured.

Firefighter/paramedics treated the victim at the scene before AMR medics transported the bicyclist to the trauma center at Riverside University Health System in Moreno Valley.
The condition of the bicyclist or the full extent of the victim’s injuries were not immediately known.
The driver of the vehicle that struck the bicyclist, described as a white sedan, remained at the scene after the collision.
