WINCHESTER: Juvenile found burglarizing business arrested

WINCHESTER – Sheriff’s authorities arrested a juvenile suspected of committing at least three recent burglaries Thursday, Feb. 2. The alleged suspect was arrested after deputies located him hiding inside a commercial business during an early-morning burglary investigation. The business is in the 30700 block of Benton Road in Winchester.

Officials did not release the 17-year-old suspect’s name due to his age.

The investigation began about 1:41 a.m., when deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Southwest station responded to reports of a commercial burglary at the business, according to Riverside Sheriff’s Sergeant Daniel Hernandez.

During their investigation, “deputies conducted a search of the business and found the suspect hiding inside,” Hernandez explained.

Investigating deputies determined the suspect was linked to at least two other recent commercial burglaries in Temecula.

At the conclusion of their initial investigation, deputies arrested the minor for burglary and possession of burglary tools. He was booked at Juvenile Hall for charges related to the burglaries.
