BLYTHE: Two arrested during narcotics-related search warrant
BLYTHE – Two men were arrested during the service of a narcotics-related search warrant Thursday, March 16.
The Blythe Narcotic Enforcement Team (BNET) served a search warrant at a private residence in the 19000 block of south C and D Boulevards in the unincorporated community of Blythe. They were assisted by the Blythe Police Department and United States Border Patrol.
“BNET is a multi-agency narcotic task force consisting of law enforcement organizations within the Palo Verde Valley,” Riverside Sheriff’s Sergeant Michael Carroll explained in a press release after the arrests. “BNET’s primary mission is to disrupt narcotic sales and diminish the availability of those drugs, thereby increasing public safety.”
During the service of the search warrant, authorities located and seized three firearms – including one illegal assault rifle and high-capacity magazine – as well as ammunition and drug paraphernalia.
After the warrant service, authorities arrested 44-year-old, Gary Moreno and 31-year-old, Craig Moreno. Both men are residents of Blythe and bother were booked into the Riverside County Jail in Blythe.

Gary Moreno was charged with being a felon in possession of firearms, being a felon in possession of ammunition, possession of an assault rifle, possession of a high-capacity magazine, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Craig Moreno was arrested for four misdemeanor warrants, according to Carroll.
An online jail records search revealed Gary Moreno is being held in lieu of $10,000 bail and is scheduled to be arraigned at the Larson Justice Center in Indio March 20.
Craig Moreno was cited for his warrants and released within hours of his arrest.
