SAN JACINTO: Investigators arrest “sexual predator,” caught peeping into windows

SAN JACINTO – Sheriff’s investigators conducting surveillance related to reports of a “sexual predator” seen prowling in a San Jacinto neighborhood arrested a man they reportedly caught “peeping” into house windows, Wednesday morning, May 3. Authorities made the early-morning arrest on the 300 block of Hazeldell Avenue in San Jacinto.

Investigators conducting surveillance in a San Jacinto neighborhood arrested Ramon Rojas after they saw him “peeping” into the windows of a residence.

The neighborhood where the man was arrested is west of De Anza Drive and is situated between two nearby parks, Haugen and Warneke.

Investigators from the Riverside County Sheriff’s San Jacinto Police Station arrested Ramon Rojas, 46, of San Jacinto, “for ‘peeping’ into an inhabited dwelling,” after they caught him looking through the windows of a residence, Riverside Sheriff’s Sergeant Robert Duckett explained in a written press release after Rojas’ arrest.

Investigators were conducting surveillance on Hazeldell Avenue after officials were notified regarding reports of a “sexual predator” seen lurking in the area. The suspect was described as a Hispanic male adult.

At about 5:30 a.m., investigators spotted a man, who was later identified as Rojas, looking into the windows of a residence. Based on the reports of a man seen prowling in the area and the investigators’ observations, officials moved in and arrested Rojas.

An online jail records search revealed Rojas was booked into the Larry Smith Correctional Facility in Banning on suspicion of three counts of misdemeanor peeping as well as violation of probation for the same offense.

Rojas remains in custody, held on $250,000 bail. He is scheduled to be arraigned at an unspecified court May 5.
