RIVERSIDE: One killed, two others injured in “domestic-related” shooting

RIVERSIDE – Details are still emerging after Riverside police officials arrested a man, accused of fatally shooting a family member Sunday night, May 7. The deadly shooting happened in a quiet neighborhood just blocks from the Riverside Plaza on the 3500 block of Timothy Way near San Diego Avenue in Riverside.

Early information from the scene indicated that two of the main people involved in the fatal shooting were possibly father and son.

City of Riverside Fire and Police personnel were dispatched to the scene about 8:40 p.m., after someone called 911 to report a shooting at a home.

When officers and other emergency first responders arrived at the residence, they located three victims who had been injured in what officials have called a “domestic dispute.”

One of the victims was reportedly a male who was believed to have been shot. That victim, who has not been identified pending notification of his family, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officials have not yet released any information regarding the incident; however they are expected to release information regarding the deadly shooting soon.

Two other people were reportedly evaluated and treated at the scene before AMR medics transported them to an area hospital. The nature and full extent of their injuries was not immediately known.

Riverside Police Officer Railsback later explained the shooting was the result of a domestic dispute-related altercation that took place at the residence. The incident reportedly happened after an estranged son showed up at the home.

It was not immediately known if those involved in the deadly incident lived at the residence where the shooting happened.

Police were later seen questioning family members and other potential witnesses while they investigated the fatal shooting.

Timothy Way remained closed for several hours while detectives conducted their investigation, which is active and ongoing.
