EAST HEMET: Combative man arrested after fighting with officers

EAST HEMET – A man was arrested after allegedly fighting with an officer during a traffic stop Thursday evening, May 11. The violent incident, that brought City of Hemet police officers rushing to help after an officer at the scene put out an emergency call for assistance, happened in the area of Monte Vista Way and E. Devonshire Avenue.
The incident began shortly before 8:45 p.m., when a Hemet PD officer conducted a routine traffic stop on a white Hyundai Elantra. The reason for the stop was not immediately known.
The officer at the traffic stop determined the driver had been driving illegally and he advised the driver that he was going to tow his car. The man reportedly became combative and began fighting with the officer, at which time the officer put out an emergency call for assistance.
Numerous officers from around the city responded to the officer’s emergency call.
Moments before responding officers arrived at the location of the traffic stop, the first officer updated that he taken the man into custody after deploying his taser at the combative subject.
After the man was in custody, medical personnel were summoned to treat the man for the taser deployment and for minor injuries he received while fighting with the officers.
He was later taken to Hemet Valley Hospital for an OK to book before being booked into jail. Officials have not released the man’s name yet.
No officers were injured during the violent encounter.

Trevor has been married for more than 26 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and has 13 children and 12 – soon to be 13 – grandchildren.
