LAKE HILLS: Officials investigating after man’s lifeless body discovered

LAKE HILLS — Authorities are investigating the murder of a man whose lifeless body was found Saturday, July 29, in the 12000 block of East Sun Canyon Street in the unincorporated community of Lake Hills near Jurupa Valley.

Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner’s officials later identified the victim as Gilbert Robert Nieblas, 51, of Moreno Valley.

The murder investigation is one of two that officials are investigating that happened on the same day, within 15 miles of each other.

Deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Jurupa Valley Station responded to a 911 call reporting a man down at the location at 6:05 a.m., Riverside Sheriff’s Sergeant Jeff Buompensiero explained in a written report after the incident.

When they arrived, deputies located a Hispanic male adult on the ground. The man, later identified as Carrasco, sustained major, traumatic injuries that resulted in his death.

Investigators from the Jurupa Valley Station and the Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit responded and assumed the investigation.

“No suspects have been arrested,” said Buompensiero, “The investigation is ongoing.”
