On Wednesday, September 20, 2017, officers assigned to the Temecula Police Department’s Problem Oriented Policing team and Riverside County Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force conducted an undercover “John” sting.  Women and underage girls who are solicited for acts of prostitution are often victims of human trafficking.  “John” programs concentrate on the men who solicit women for prostitution related activities.  The focus of these programs is persons who arrange prostitution related activities via social media websites and choose a mutually agreed upon location to meet.  Typically, the “Johns” are individuals from other areas that choose locations within our city to meet and engage in their illegal activity.  We continue to monitor social media sites and our efforts to stop this activity in Temecula will continue.  During the operation, ten men were arrested for solicitation of prostitution.  The following individuals were arrested and booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center:
  • Craig Stewart Burchett, 40-years-old, Temecula
  • Michael McKinley Davis, 59-years-old, Wildomar
  • Juan Jose Jacinto, 52-years-old, Temecula
  • Scott Michael Jensen, 44-years-old, Temecula
  • Clinton James Keener, 25-years-old, Temecula
  • Jerry Michael Martinez, 29-years-old, Wildomar
  • John Matthew Martinez, 22-years-old, Jurupa Valley
  • Jeremy Apolinar Pimental, 23-years-old, Winchester
  • Danny Lee Shaffer, 34-years-old, Murrieta
  • Gary Vincent Tolle, 48-years-old, Menifee

  • The individuals arrested appear to be victims of an entrapment operation. There is no evidence to suggest that they were actively engaged in human trafficking; but rather were induced into committing a non-crime by an imposter.
