MEAD VALLEY: Officials track down and arrest alleged murder suspect in South Gate

MEAD VALLEY — Very few details have been released, but officials say they arrested a man they allege murdered a Good Hope resident. The alleged suspect was arrested Monday, Oct. 2, the day after the Sunday, Oct. 1 homicide.

The murder happened on the 21000 block of Byron Street, west of Brown and north of Martin Streets, in the unincorporated community of Mead Valley.

Sheriff’s officials tracked the alleged suspect to the City of South Gate where they arrested 21-year-old, Jesus Plancarte. He was later booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center in Riverside on suspicion of murder with malice and reckless driving.

The victim was identified as Joel Cisneros, 41, of Good Hope, according to Riverside Sheriff’s Sergeant Steve Brosche.

Deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Perris Station responded to the Byron Street residence after officials received the report of a deceased person found at the location.

When deputies arrived they located Cisneros. He had already succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Officials have not specified how or if the two men knew each other and they have not specified the nature or extent of Cisneros’ fatal injuries.

Based on the circumstances, investigators from the Perris Station and the Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit responded to the location and assumed the investigation.

During their investigation, officials gathered leads and developed information that led them to South Gate in Los Angeles County, where they ultimately located and arrested Plancarte. He was arrested about 8:30 p.m. and booked into jail shortly before 1 a.m. the following morning.

Officials have not yet specified how Cisneros was killed or if there is a known motive for the murder.

“Due to the ongoing investigation, no further information will be released at this time,” said Brosche.

A jail records search indicated Plancarte remains in custody and is being held without bail. He is scheduled to be arraigned at the Riverside Hall Of Justice Oct. 5.
