SAN JACINTO: Officials investigating man’s death after fatal family disturbance

SAN JACINTO — Officials are conducting a death investigation after a man died following a family disturbance. The victim died four days after the incident that happened Tuesday, Nov. 7, at a private residence on the 600 block of South Jordan Avenue in San Jacinto.

Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner’s officials later identified the man as Osvaldo Navarro, 42, of San Jacinto. According to a coroner’s release, he was pronounced dead on Saturday, Nov. 11, at 8:10 a.m.

The coroner’s release did not list Navarro’s time of injury, indicating that as well as his location of injury was pending further investigation.

The investigation began last Tuesday when deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s San Jacinto Police Station responded to the home about 10 p.m., after receiving reports of a family disturbance, Riverside Sheriff’s Sergeant Steve Brosche explained in a written press release.

When deputies arrived at the location they located a man inside the home who was unresponsive.

Deputies summoned medical assistance and the unresponsive man, who was later identified as Navarro, was transported to Hemet Valley Hospital. He remained hospitalized for four days until he succumbed to his injury and was pronounced dead by hospital staff.

Officials have not specified the nature of the Navarro’s injuries.

Investigators from the San Jacinto Police Department and the Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit responded to the location and assumed the investigation.

Citing the ongoing investigation, officials provided no further details regarding the circumstances that led to Navarro’s death.

According to Brosche, there are no outstanding suspects and the investigation is active and ongoing.
