RIVERSIDE: Four injured, one critically, in head-on, rollover wreck
RIVERSIDE — Four people were hospitalized after a major-injury, two-vehicle traffic collision, Monday morning, Nov. 20. The early morning accident happened on Hole Avenue, between Mobley and California Avenues, in Riverside.

City of Riverside Fire and Police personnel along with American Medical Response medics responded to the accident about 12:15 a.m., after multiple people called 911 to report the crash; which involved a silver, 2008 Honda SUV and silver, 2002 Honda sedan.
When officials arrived, they found two wrecked vehicles in the middle of Hole Avenue, in front of the Krazy Greek restaurant. The SUV was on its roof and both vehicles had sustained major, front-end damage in the collision. Vehicle parts and debris were strewn across the roadway, blocking all lanes of traffic on Hole Avenue.
Firefighter/paramedics immediately began evaluating and treating four people injured in the collision.
The driver and two passengers from the SUV and the driver from the sedan were all eventually transported to area hospitals with injuries ranging from moderate to severe.
One of the passengers, a 56-year-old Riverside resident was transported with critical injuries.

While fire officials treated the injured victims, police investigated the cause of the collision.
During their investigation, officers determined a 21-year-old, Riverside resident was driving the sedan eastbound on Hole Avenue when, for an unknown reason, the vehicle crossed into the westbound lanes of Hole Avenue and plowed head-on into the SUV being driven by a 22-year-old, who was also from Riverside.
While officers investigated the cause of the accident, they called for the temporary closure of Hole Avenue in both directions between California Avenue and Palmento Drive. Officials re-opened the roadway to through traffic when their initial investigation was concluded.
Officials have not yet determined if alcohol or drug intoxication were contributing factors in the major-injury crash and Riverside PD’s investigation is active and ongoing.
