JURUPA VALLEY: Child pulled from pool seriously injured after nearly drowning

JURUPA VALLEY — A child was seriously injured after being found floating in a pool, Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 3. The near drowning happened on the 9400 block of 56th Street, near Cedar Street, in Jurupa Valley.

Six firefighters from two engine companies responded to the reported incident at 4:57 p.m., Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire spokeswoman April Newman explained in an incident report.

The child was removed from the pool by the person who called 911 and with emergency dispatcher’s help and direction, the adult began CPR and continued until firefighters arrived at the scene and took over life-saving efforts.

“The patient was transported by ground ambulance in serious condition to an area hospital, with a firefighter paramedic on board,” said Newman, who described the victim’s injuries as major.

Officials have not provided any updates regarding the child’s injuries.

He finished his career while working as a Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigator and was a court-designated expert in child abuse and child sex-related crimes.

Trevor has been married for more than 27 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and has 13 children and 14 grandchildren.
