UPDATED: WILDOMAR: Officials identify fatal hit and run victim as 47-year-old, Wildomar man

WILDOMAR — Officials have identified a man who died after being struck by a vehicle that fled the scene, Thursday, Jan. 4. The fatal hit and run traffic collision happened at the intersection of Bundy Canyon Road and Harvest Way in Wildomar.

Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner’s officials later identified Rudolph McCreight, 47, of Wildomar as the man killed in the deadly collision. Although coroner officials have not yet determined the time McCreight was fatally struck, he was pronounced dead at 9:35 p.m., when officials found his body.

Emergency first responders were dispatched to the scene of the deadly accident at 9:21 p.m., after Riverside County emergency dispatchers received a 911 call reporting a pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle, Riverside Sheriff’s Sergeant James Woodland explained after the fatal hit and run.

When deputies and medical personnel arrived at the scene they found McCreight, who was down on the ground had suffered “significant injuries,” said Woodland. “Although medical aid was attempted, the pedestrian… succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.”

Based on the circumstances, deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Wildomar Police Station and members from the Lake Elsinore Police Department’s Traffic Reconstruction Team responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.

Deputies determined that after fatally hitting McCreight, the driver of the vehicle fled the scene and has not yet been identified or located and officials are asking for the community’s help locating the driver and vehicle.

Trevor has been married for more than 27 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and has 13 children and 14 grandchildren.
