JURUPA VALLEY: Officials investigating drowning death

JURUPA VALLEY — Officials are investigating after a man was found floating in a in Jurupa Valley backyard pool Friday afternoon, Jan. 19. Officials have released very few details other than to confirm the death is under investigation.

According to an Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire incident report, emergency first responders were dispatched to a home on the 6000 block of Karen Lane, near Armstrong Road, at 3:27 p.m., after an unspecified person called 911 to report finding the victim. The nearly one-mile stretch of Karen Lane, between Sandra and Loveland Drives has more than one dozen homes that feature backyard pools.

When paramedics arrived they were unable to revive the victim. It was not known how long the man had been in the pool before his body was discovered, which is part of the Sheriff’s ongoing investigation.

American Medical Response medics responded to the scene with an ambulance; however it was not immediately known if the victim was transported to a hospital or pronounced deceased at the scene.

Officials have not released the victim’s name or age, pending further investigation and notification of the person’s family.

Deputies assigned to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Jurupa Valley Police Station were among first responders dispatched to the drowning and they are now investigating the death. Their investigation is active and ongoing.

Trevor has been married for more than 27 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and has 13 children and 14 grandchildren.
