PERRIS — Officials have identified a woman found murdered inside a Perris home, Thursday night, Jan. 25, and say they have also identified a man they suspect as the person who killed her. The victim was found with “significant injuries” at a residence on the 500 block of Iroquois Road, between Navajo and Tomahawk Roads and west of Highway 74, according to sheriff’s officials.

Officials are seeking Raul Avalos after they say he murdered Elizabeth Lozano at a Perris residence.
Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner’s officials identified Elizabeth Lozano, 23, of Perris, as the victim who was killed, Riverside Sheriff’s Sergeant Ben Ramirez explained in an updated press release.
Central Homicide Unit investigators are now asking for the public’s help locating Raul Segundo Avalos, 28, of Perris. He is believed to be driving his white, 2010 Toyota Tundra. The pickup truck has 4-doors and it license is 15308D2.
The investigation began shortly after 9:10 p.m., when deputies were summoned to the home to assist Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire officials who had been dispatched to the location regarding a “medical emergency” call, Ramirez explained shortly after Lozano’s murder.
When deputies and medical personnel arrived at the scene, they “located a female down inside a residence with significant injuries,” said Ramirez, who explained, “Cal Fire medics pronounced the female deceased, and deputies secured the location as a crime scene.”
Citing the ongoing investigation, officials have not specified the nature of the medical aid call that originally brought fire and sheriff’s officials to the residence or the full extent of the victim’s injuries.
Based on the circumstances, investigators from the Sheriff’s Perris Station and Central Homicide Unit responded to the home and assumed the investigation. Their investigation is active and ongoing.
