HEMET: Man shot near intersection, suspect being sought
HEMET — Officials are investigating after a man was shot near a Hemet intersection earlier this morning.
City of Hemet Police and Fire Departments along with other emergency first responders were dispatched to the the intersection of Kimball Avenue and Inez Street about 7:15 a.m., after receiving reports of shots fired in the area and at least one 911 call reporting a victim down with a gunshot wound.
When they arrived at the scene officials found a man who had been shot in the abdomen, according to witnesses at the scene. American Medical Response medics transported the victim to a local trauma center for further evaluation and treatment and his current condition is not known.
During their investigation officers cordoned off the intersection and searched the area for evidence related to the shooting.
As their investigation continued, officers learned that after the shooting the unidentified suspect fled south on Inez Street towards Acacia Avenue. The alleged shooter has not yet been identified and remains at large.
Although the cause of the shooting is unknown at this time, some witnesses reported hearing a possible argument just before the shooting.
Hemet PD’s investigation is ongoing.

Trevor has been married for more than 27 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and has 13 children and 14 grandchildren.
