Indio PD officers conducted an initial investigation into the stabbing, which happened about 12:30 p.m., on the 84-400 block of Manila Street, according to Riverside Sheriff’s Sergeant Narciso.

Because of where the stabbing happened, deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Thermal Station responded and assumed the investigation.

An initial search for the alleged suspect proved fruitless; however, deputies located the suspect, identified as 51-year-old, Raul Medina Guillen, two days later. He was found Wednesday, Feb 14, in the area of Dr. Carreon Boulevard and Van Buren Street, in the city of Indio.

Guillen was booked into the Riverside County Jail in Indio for assault with a deadly weapon as well as a warrant for being under the influence of a controlled substance. He remains in custody, held on $75,000 bail and is scheduled to be arraigned at Indio Larson Justice Center, Feb. 16.
