City of Hemet Police and Fire Departments along with other emergency first responders were dispatched to the scene of the wreck just after 5:15 p.m., after being notified regarding the collision. A 911 caller advised the motorcycle rider was down on the ground and unconscious.

When they arrived officials found a wrecked, red, Honda CBR motorcycle in the roadway and a damaged, older-model BMW nearby. The rider was still on the ground and surrounded by a group of good Samaritans; however, he was awake and alert.

American Medical Response medics eventually transported the victim to Riverside University Health System Medical Center in Moreno Valley for further evaluation and treatment. Officials have not provided any information regarding the accident or the extent and nature of the victim’s injuries or current medical condition.

While Hemet PD investigated the cause of the collision they called for the temporary closure of W. Acacia Avenue and the roadway was reopened at the conclusion of their initial investigation. Their collision investigation is active and ongoing.
