Murrieta PD’s Weekly Roundup 6/21

From Murrieta PD/Facebook

– Officer Meadows is part of the Probation Parole Compliance Team #PPCT and part of his job is to make sure that people on probation and parole are in compliance with the terms of their release. #seehowwecameupwiththename Interesting fact that is frequently forgotten by our probation and parole community; when a judge allows you to bypass jail and go back into society, you sign a document promising to obey the law…when you fail to honor that promise we are always happy to take you back jail. Anyway, Thursday morning the #PPCT team was conducting a probation check at a residence when they met Trina Whitehead and Richard Angels. Turns out, Trina had a couple felony warrants she forgot to take care of and Richard had some #meth. Both spent the rest of the day in #thebyrdhouse.

– Friday morning, the #PPCT team responded to a report of suspicious people looking into parked cars. #vehicleburglary #lockyourcars #removevaluables The #observantcitizen provided the dispatcher with a description of the male and female that were seen in the apartment complex parking lot looking into parked vehicles. When the #PPCT team arrived, they spotted the mischievous duo crossing Murrieta Hot Springs Road. Gina Nunez and Lavelle Davis, both from Perris, told the officers that they had been in the apartment complex. Gina was found to be on #parole for possessing stolen vehicles and Lavelle was found to be on #probation for burglary and had an outstanding #felony warrant. #notagoodcombo During a #parole search of Gina, the officers located narcotics paraphernalia and altered vehicle keys. The #PPCT doesn’t have to go too far to find people not complying with their #parole and #probation. #doublewhammy Both Gina and Lavelle were booked into #CBDC.

– Officer Devey contacted Kevin Salgado Sunday night after he tried to walk into the wrong apartment. #oops Kevin never made it home since he had a #felony warrant and three #misdemeanor warrants. Kevin finished his night walking through another door called the intake door at the #thebyrdhouse.

– After Officer Devey delivered Kevin to the detention center, he met Angel Dominguez and his three friends in a gas station parking lot. Officer Devey had met Angel before so he knew that he was on formal probation for vehicle theft. #itsasmalltown Officer Devey conducted a probation search on Angel’s belongings and found #meth and #heroin. Angel insisted that it wasn’t his backpack even though his wallet and ID were inside. #weird #ihateitwhenthathappens #notmybackpack Officer Devey was headed back to the #CBDC . #heshouldgetapunchcard #nothinggoodhappenesaftermidnight

– Did you know that Corporal Williams used to be a traffic officer and even though he’s back on patrol, he still has an eye for speeding cars. Monday morning he was driving down Whitewood Road when he saw a silver BMW #haulinbooty in the opposite direction. As a former #motor he couldn’t let that happen. (I’m sure he misses the #windinhishair and the #bugsinhisteeth) Everyone seems to think that Whitewood is a racetrack, and it’s most definitely not. #slowyourroll It’s still 40 MPH and this driver needed to be reminded of that. As Corporal Williams caught up to the speeding silver car, the driver tried to evade him and hide in a nearby neighborhood. #theaudacity It didn’t work, because Corporal Williams caught up to Foxx Earley and arrested him for evading. #whatcouldhavebeenawarning #endedupjailtime #slowdown

– It’s been a week of #felony warrants. Officer Drootin contacted Todd Stewart walking behind a shopping center on Madison Avenue. Mr. Stewart had a #felony and a #misdemeanor warrant. It was off to #thebyrdhouse for him.

– There is absolutely no reason to drive under the influence. None. With #Uber, #Lyft and #taxi’s you don’t need to drive. And if you have the munchies, you can call #GrubHub, #DoorDash or #InstaCart to deliver food (and alcohol) to you. There’s no excuse. None. Monday night at 10:45 p.m., Officer Spencer was flagged down in a gas station parking lot by a #concerendcitizen that was worried about a female customer. Officer Spencer contacted the female, Jenelle Wallis, and immediately noticed a strong odor of alcoholic beverage coming from her. Officer Spencer determined that Jenelle was so intoxicated that she was unable to care for herself. When Officer Spencer checked the car that Jenelle stated was hers, he found a baby. Yes, a baby. Janelle was taken to #CBDC for child endangerment and the baby went home with family. #dontdrinkanddrive #itsnotworthit #endangeringothers

– Wednesday morning Officer Shows found himself behind a stolen vehicle. #rollinstolen This wasn’t the driver’s first rodeo. He had done this once or twice so he knew to pull over. Carlo Brol was escorted to #thebyrdhouse by Officer Shows and the vehicle owner got his car back.

– Every week our officers are working hard to keep you safe and take deserving individuals to #thebyrdhouse. What you don’t know is how hard our dispatchers are working behind the scenes. They handle both #police and #fire calls…#uniqueskillset. This week our fine dispatchers handled 497 emergency calls and 1893 non-emergency calls. Including #Fire and #CodeEnforcement responses, our dispatchers formatted 829 total calls for service. #thatsalotofwork. This 24/7 operation never stops. #911dispatchersrock #Murrietapoliceandfirecommcenter #thankyou
