After failing a series of field sobriety tests, 40-year-old, Ameen Bernard Ferguson, was arrested and booked into Robert Presley Detention Center on suspicion of DUI and driving on a suspended license.
Deputies assigned to Moreno Valley Police Department, along with other emergency first responders, were dispatched to the intersection of Pigeon Pass and Swan Street just before 12:45 a.m., after receiving reports of a solo-vehicle traffic collision.
911 callers reported the vehicle, described as a silver Chrysler Sebring had crashed into a light pole.
When officials arrived they found the uninjured driver and observed that he appeared to be under the influence of alcohol, officials explained in a social media release about the crash and arrest.
“Even when he was explained the potential seriousness of his crime, the driver showed no signs of remorse,” wrote officials.
Based on their investigation, deputies arrested Ferguson and impounded his vehicle.
An online jail records search revealed Ferguson was released within hours of his arrest and is scheduled to be arraigned at Riverside’s Hall Of Justice, Nov. 5.
