Murrieta PD’s Weekly Roundup 6/28
From Murrieta PD/Facebook
• Thursday night, Officer Bradley conducted a traffic stop on Madison Avenue near Madison Square. He contacted the four occupants, one of which was Chantale Klink. Ms. Klink had an outstanding felony warrant for grand theft and a misdemeanor warrant for theft and narcotics. Ms. Klink found herself with a one way ticket to the clink. #seewhatwedidthere #badumbum
• While Officer Bradley was arresting Ms. Klink for her outstanding warrants, a call came in regarding a drunk driver. Officer Huss quickly located and stopped the suspected drunk driver at Kalmia and Jefferson. Since Officer Bradley is the #DUI officer and he just happened to be around the corner, he responded to the traffic stop to evaluate the driver. Officer Bradley determined that George Rivera was too intoxicated to drive and was placed under arrest. #seriously #uber #lyft #taxi #noexcuse Mr. Rivera joined Ms. Klink in the back of Officer Bradley’s patrol unit and they #carpooled to #CBDC. Maybe it’s time to look into getting a MPD Paddy Wagon? If only we had a van large enough to transport several people…..
• Friday afternoon Officer Quick responded to the Walmart regarding two people stealing. The caller stated that one of the suspects had struck the employee while fleeing the store. #notnice Several officers responded to the area and located the suspects across the street. The suspects, Amanda Ardrey and Brian Granados were positively identified by the victim. A records check revealed that Amanda had not one, not two, not even three warrants. She had eight. Eight misdemeanor warrants. #seriously #stopavoiding #justtakecareofyourbusiness Amanda and Brian went to #CBDC for robbery and conspiracy. Why robbery? Because Amanda struck the employee that was attempting to stop her from shoplifting. #wasitworthit #nope
• An #observantcitizen called dispatch Saturday evening regarding a suspicious person in an apartment complex. Officers Williams and Huss quickly located the person described by the caller and contacted him. For some reason, the suspicious person gave the officers a fake name. #howrude Why would someone do that? Probably because he had four felony warrants. #nicetry When Officers Williams and Huss searched Dicarlo Gutierrez’s bag subsequent to his arrest guess what they found. Drugs. Lots and lots of drugs. Dicarlo spent the rest of his weekend in #thebyrdhouse for his warrants and plethora of meth and heroin.
• School Resource Officer Abbate has been promoted and is now Corporal Abbate #congratulations. He has moved back to working patrol and has wasted no time in getting back into the swing of things. Early Saturday morning, Corporal Abbate located an occupied vehicle parked near a construction site. Due to recent burglaries of construction sites, Corporal Abbate contacted the driver of the vehicle, Aaron Jennings, to make sure he wasn’t up to anything nefarious. Inside Mr. Jennings’ vehicle, Corporal Abbate located 332 prescription pills #nothis and a loaded handgun. #nothinggoodhappensaftermidnight Mr. Jennigs was arrested and booked into #CBCD. Get used to seeing Corporal Abbate’s name in the Weekly Roundups! #welcomebacktopatrol
• Officers Hom and Williams know that #nothinggoodhappensaftermidnight so when they saw people in a truck in a parking lot at 3:00 a.m. where all of the stores are closed, they wanted to make sure that everything was ok. Just as the #dynamicduo made contact with the two male subjects in their truck, they took off at a high rate of speed. #ohnotheydidnt Gregory Strahl and Tyler Pearman learned a couple things the hard way Sunday morning. First, when you drive fast on old roads in the dark with your headlights off, you will crash at a dead end you didn’t see. And second, the K9 will find you so there’s no point in hiding in bushes. #goodboy #PSDPak #hideandseekchamp Gregory went to #CBDC for his felony warrant and evading and Tyler went for possessing meth.
• The weather has been pretty awesome. Taking an afternoon nap under a tree sounds like a great way to spend an afternoon. That’s exactly where Officer Schmidt met John Bernard. Taking an afternoon nap under a tree. Unfortunately for John, he had a felony warrant and he had to continue his slumber at #thebyrdhouse.
• The dispatchers have been busy the past week. They received 508 emergency calls, 2041 non-emergency phone calls and formatted 864 calls for service. That’s a total 2549 phone calls! #busyladies
• I know that you’ve already put the City Birthday Bash in your calendar, so let’s go over a few reminders:
The parking lot at the park is reserved for handicap parking, so bring your walking shoes. Please don’t block driveways and fire hydrants when you park in the neighborhoods. #manners
Be sure to use the crosswalks. We don’t want you spending the weekend in the hospital because you were hit by a car while jaywalking because you didn’t feel like walking a little farther. #dontplayfrogger #yourkidsarewatching #teachthemtherightway
There’s no alcohol, BBQ’s, smoking, drones or dogs. I know right? #wereabunchofpartypoopers Don’t worry, you’ll still have fun.
Be sure to come by the Police Command Center and say #hi. We’ll be parked behind the main stage.
Fireworks start at 9:00 p.m. #keepyourdogsinthehouse
