Emergency first responders from multiple agencies were dispatched to a hiking trail near the 27000 block of Ramona Bowl Rd. shortly after 1:30 p.m., after receiving reports of a person injured while hiking.

With assistance from a Riverside County Sheriff’s Aviation Crew, deputies and firefighters on the ground quickly located the injured victim.

“Due to the remote location of the victim, Cal Fire’s Copter 301 was summoned to the scene to perform a hoist rescue,” Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire spokesperson Tawny Cabral explained after the rescue.

After airlifting the injured person from the trail, “Copter 301 delivered the victim to an awaiting ground ambulance,” said Cabral

American Medical Response medics then transported the victim to Hemet Valley Hospital by ground ambulance with injuries Cabral described as moderate.

Although officials did not specify the nature of the victim’s injuries, the hiker is expected to make a full recovery.
