HEMET: Woman hospitalized after hit by SUV outside store
HEMET — A woman was hospitalized after she was hit by an SUV while walking in a Hemet parking lot earlier this afternoon. The vehicle versus pedestrian accident happened outside a Ross store, on the 3100 block of W. Florida Avenue.

City of Hemet Police and Fire Departments, along with other emergency personnel, responded to the parking lot around 2:30 p.m., after being notified regarding the accident.

When officials arrived they located a small group of good Samaritans and concerned witnesses surrounding a woman. The victim was laying on her back in the middle of the parking lot outside the front of the Ross store.
A white Chevy SUV that reportedly hit the victim and knocked her to the ground was parked nearby. The driver had remained at the scene and was reportedly cooperating with Hemet PD’s collision investigation.
Firefighter-paramedics evaluated the victim, who was bleeding from the back of her head and AMR medics transported her to Hemet Valley Hospital for follow-up and further treatment.
A fire official later explained from the scene that the victim struck her head after she was knocked from her feet when the SUV bumped into her. Her injuries were described as minor and she is expected to make a full recovery.
While firefighters evaluated and treated the victim, Hemet PD investigated the cause of the minor-injury accident. Their investigation is ongoing.

Trevor’s assignments included Corrections, Patrol, DUI Enforcement, Boat and Personal Water-Craft based Lake Patrol, Off-Road Vehicle Enforcement, Problem Oriented Policing Team and Personnel/Background Investigations. He finished his career while working as a Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigator and was a court-designated expert in child abuse and child sex-related crimes.
Trevor has been married for more than 27 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and has 13 children and 14 – soon to be 15 – grandchildren.
