HEMET — A man who officials allege burglarized a home and stole a pickup truck earlier this morning was later arrested after officers found the stolen truck parked in the driveway of the man’s home on the 500 block of Kerilyn Ln., northeast of E. Oakland Ave and N. Girard St., in Hemet.

Officers responded to a report of a stolen Toyota Tundra about 10:30 a.m. When officials arrived at the victim’s home they found the garage door and front door of the residence open and unsecured.
Officers searched the area and located the stolen truck parked outside a home on Kerilyn Ln. Officials made contact with an irate man at the residence who explained to officers that based on his 300 IQ, they could not arrest him.
After the man was positively identified by the victim officers arrested him for burglary, vehicle theft, possession of stolen property, and other related charges.
Officials recovered fingerprints and property reported as stolen from inside the truck and within the suspect’s home.
Officers notified the truck’s owner and the victim responded to the scene and recovered their vehicle.
It was not immediately known if the suspect and victim knew each before the theft, or what charges the man could be facing.
