Perris motorcyclist, 25, killed after colliding with vehicle

PERRIS — A 25-year-old motorcyclist was killed Friday evening, Sept. 14, after colliding with a passenger vehicle in Perris. The deadly accident happened on West 4th Street, just west of Park Ave, according to officials.

Deputies assigned to the Perris Police Station, along with other emergency personnel, were dispatched to the scene just after 7 p.m., Riverside Sheriff’s Sergeant Marshall later explained.

Paramedics rushed the motorcyclist to an area hospital, where the man succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased by hospital staff. Officials have not released the Perris man’s identity, pending notification of his family.

Based on the circumstances, members of the Perris Traffic Reconstruction Team responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.

During their subsequent collision investigation officials determined a 54-year-old, Perris resident, was traveling westbound on W. 4th Street and came to a stop in the center median while preparing to make a left turn into a driveway.

“The motorist attempted to cross the two westbound lanes into a driveway of a business when she was struck by the motorcyclist,” explained Marshall.

The woman was not injured and was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs, according to Marshall.

During their investigation, officials called for the temporary closure of the number two lane of W. 4th St., and the roadway was reopened to traffic several hours later, at 11:45 pm.

Trevor’s assignments included Corrections, Patrol, DUI Enforcement, Boat and Personal Water-Craft based Lake Patrol, Off-Road Vehicle Enforcement, Problem Oriented Policing Team, and Personnel/Background Investigations. He finished his career while working as a Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigator and was a court-designated expert in child abuse and child sex-related crimes.

Trevor has been married for more than 28 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and his “fluid family” includes 13 children and 14 – but soon to be 16 – grandchildren.
