Authorities investigating after woman’s body found inside Norco parked car

NORCO — Authorities are investigating the death of a woman found inside a parked car in a Norco shopping center parking lot early Thursday morning, Sept. 20.

The victim’s vehicle was found parked at Hamner Square Shopping Center on the 1800 block of Hamner Ave. The shopping center is home to about a dozen businesses, including Pizza Hut, 7-Eleven, Slick’s Billiards, and others.

Sheriff’s deputies and other emergency personnel responded to the parking lot around 1:20 a.m., after receiving reports of an unresponsive woman found inside a vehicle.

Deputies and paramedics attempted life-saving measures, but were unsuccessful in reviving the victim, who was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Norco Sheriff’s investigation is active and ongoing and officials have not released the woman’s name, pending further investigation and notification of the victim’s family. Officials have not yet said if foul play is suspected in the woman’s death.

During his time with the sheriff’s department, Trevor worked at several different stations; including Robert Presley Detention Center, Southwest Station in Temecula, Hemet/Valle Vista Station, Ben Clark Public Safety Training Center, and Lake Elsinore Station; along with other locations.

Trevor’s assignments included Corrections, Patrol, DUI Enforcement, Boat and Personal Water-Craft based Lake Patrol, Off-Road Vehicle Enforcement, Problem Oriented Policing Team, and Personnel/Background Investigations. He finished his career while working as a Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigator and was a court-designated expert in child abuse and child sex-related crimes.

Trevor has been married for more than 28 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and his “fluid family” includes 13 children and 14 – but soon to be 16 – grandchildren.
