Officers injured arresting Hemet man who tried to kill two
HEMET — At least two officers were injured arresting a convicted felon they allege tried to kill two people including a senior citizen, last Saturday evening, Sept. 22. The suspect was also injured during the violent incident that happened at Sunburst Mobile Home Park, near W. Devonshire Ave. and N. Gilmore St.
Hemet Police Chief Rob Webb later praised his officers for their “utmost restraint” during the incident and arrest, saying, “This could have resulted in a fatal officer involved shooting.”

After an investigation officials arrested 25-year-old, Moses David Delgado, on suspicion of two counts of attempted murder of a police officer, elder abuse, resisting arrest with violence, and two counts of violation of probation. Jail records indicate he remains in custody on $1 million bail.
Hemet police officers were dispatched to the mobile home park just after 5:30 p.m., after receiving reports of a suicidal subject who was armed with a knife and wanting to kill himself.
When the first officer arrived at the scene he found Moses along with two others in a bedroom, Hemet Police Lt. Jeff Davis explained yesterday.
Delgado was on top of a woman trying to cut the victim’s throat with an “improvised weapon,” according to Davis. A male victim was also on the floor of the bedroom with “multiple stab wounds to his torso,” said Davis.
Although Delgado initially complied with officers who ordered him to drop his weapon, “he immediately became extremely combative towards officers,” said Davis. Additional officers soon arrived and officials managed to subdue and arrest the violently resisting man.
The male victim Delgado stabbed was rushed to an area trauma center and underwent emergency surgery for life-threatening stab wounds to his torso. He remains hospitalized in stable condition.
The female victim, who suffered minor lacerations to her neck, was treated and medically cleared at the scene.
During the altercation and arrest “officers sustained injuries to include abrasions and a fractured hand,” Davis explained.
After his arrest officers transported Delgado to Hemet Valley Medical Center for a medical clearance required for booking. While at the hospital, he became combative with hospital staff and had to be sedated to receive treatment for injuries he sustained while fighting with officers. He was booked into jail three days later, on Sept. 25.

In the beginning of the article it states, “at least two officers were injured arresting a convicted felon they allege tried to kill…” the word is wrong there and sounds like the police “allegedly tried to kill the felon” So either I have messed up and read that wrong, which I am certain I did not, or the wording was incorrect
I understand it…”At least two officers were injured….. arresting a convicted felon THEY ALLEGE tried to kill two people including a senior citizen.” (I’m not yelling there..just emphasizing that the officers allege) .
