City of Beaumont Police and Fire Departments, along with other emergency personnel, responded to a possible shooting just before 1 a.m., after receiving reports of a man down in the roadway.
When Officers arrived at the scene they found a male victim lying in the street suffering from at least one gunshot wound, Beaumont PD said in a social media release. Officers immediately began administering life-saving medical aid to the victim until paramedics arrived and took over.
The victim was rushed by ambulance to an area hospital. The man, who has not yet been identified, was listed in grave condition, according to BPD.
During their initial on-scene investigation officials brought in a mobile command center and other resources and cordoned off the entire area as a crime scene.
