Lake Elsinore teen ID’d after fatal crash into telephone pole
LAKE ELSINORE — A 17-year-old Temescal Canyon High School student has been identified after suffering fatal injuries when she crashed head-on into a telephone pole Saturday morning, October 13. The deadly accident happened on Railroad Canyon Rd. near Church Rd. in Lake Elsinore.

Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner officials identified today Lake Elsinore resident Kennedie Ryan as the victim killed in the single-vehicle crash. According to a coroner’s release Kennedie was rushed to Inland Valley Medical Center where she succumbed to her injuries about thirty-five minutes after the crash and was pronounced deceased at 11:11 a.m.
Deputies from the Lake Elsinore Police Station and other emergency personnel were dispatched to the scene about 10:35 a.m., after receiving reports of the crash, Riverside Sheriff’s Sgt. James Woodland later explained.
When officials arrived they found a black Cadillac that had smashed into a power pole along the north edge of the roadway. Kennedie was found with major traumatic injuries and AMR transported the victim and sole occupant of the Cadillac to IVMC, where she later passed away.
Based on the circumstances, Lake Elsinore PD Traffic Reconstruction Team members responded to the scene and assumed the investigation into the deadly wreck and are “conducting a full investigation to determine the cause of the collision,” said Woodland. Deputies determined Kennedie had been traveling westbound on Rail Road Canyon Rd. when, for an unknown reason, she veered off the roadway and plowed into the telephone pole.
During their investigation, officials called for the temporary, intermittent closure of westbound Railroad Canyon near Church Street and the roadway was reopened about four hours later.
According to Woodland, alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the collision and LEPD’s investigation is ongoing.

Trevor’s assignments included Corrections, Patrol, DUI Enforcement, Boat and Personal Water-Craft based Lake Patrol, Off-Road Vehicle Enforcement, Problem Oriented Policing Team, and Personnel/Background Investigations. He finished his career while working as a Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigator and was a court-designated expert in child abuse and child sex-related crimes.
Trevor has been married for more than 28 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and his “fluid family” includes 13 children and 14 – but soon to be 16 – grandchildren.

I doubt it. That road is dangerous in itself and it was raining that day so it made it worse.
Railroad Canyon Rd is treacherous, too many young people die on this road!
I wasn’t close with her I only had two or three conversations with her but she was such a happy person. She was always smiling and was super funny.(I used to be a student at T.C.) I cant imagine what its like for her teachers,family, and friends that were close with her. My family and I were driving on that road to go to San Diego and we saw the crashed car on the side of the road. Later in the day my mom told me it was a student and I immediately recognized the person in the picture. She made such a big impact on so many people with her positivity. She will be missed. <3
