No injuries reported after solo-vehicle Hemet rollover
HEMET — Two people escaped injury when a Hemet driver lost control of a sedan and the vehicle overturned earlier today. The accident happened Friday, Nov. 2, on W. Stetson Ave. between Palm Ave. and Gilbert St., less than 150 yards from Hemet Fire Station #2.

City of Hemet Police and Fire Departments, along with other emergency personnel, were dispatched to the scene around 11:50 a.m., after receiving reports of the rollover accident. 911 callers and good Samaritans who ran to the nearby fire station reported the vehicle was on its roof and smoking and that two people were still inside the overturned car.

When officials arrived they found a Toyota Corolla on its roof blocking the eastbound lanes on Stetson. Two occupants were already out of the vehicle, after being helped by numerous good Samaritans and witnesses, who ran to the aid of the victims in the immediate aftermath of the rollover crash.
Although the Toyota sustained major front-end, passenger side, and roof damage, the occupants from the car were reportedly uninjured and were seen up and walking around after the solo-vehicle wreck.
Area resident Karin Lynns, who happened upon the crash right after it occurred and snapped several photos of the accident, later said she saw two people being helped from the overturned sedan.
“Amazingly they looked okay when they crawled out,” described Lynns, who said,
“Lots of people stopped to help.”
A tow truck later righted the sedan back onto its wheels and towed the wrecked car from the scene.
It was not immediately known what caused the crash or how fast the car was traveling when the driver lost control, but the posted speed limit on Stetson in the area is 40 mph.
Hemet PD is investigating the crash and their investigation is ongoing.

Trevor’s assignments included Corrections, Patrol, DUI Enforcement, Boat and Personal Water-Craft based Lake Patrol, Off-Road Vehicle Enforcement, Problem Oriented Policing Team, and Personnel/Background Investigations. He finished his career while working as a Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigator and was a court-designated expert in child abuse and child sex-related crimes.
Trevor has been married for more than 28 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and his “fluid family” includes 13 children and 14 – but soon to be 16 – grandchildren.
