Traffic stop leads to arrest of pair who burglarized Redding school

REDDING — A traffic stop in Redding late last night, Thursday, Nov. 29, led to the arrest of two people officials say burglarized Boulder Creek Elementary School and later sold the items they stole from the school’s campus for drugs.

A Redding police officer was working patrol in the south Redding area when he spotted a car that matched the description of a vehicle reportedly involved in a burglary at BCS, Redding PD later explained in a press release after the pair’s arrest.

The officer conducted a traffic stop and contacted the driver, who was identified as Brianna Renee Lynn Meier, 23, and her passenger, Jason Goltz, 44. Both alleged suspects are Redding residents.

“During a subsequent interview, Meier admitted to breaking into multiple structures at Boulder Creek School and stealing multiple items which she later sold for drugs,” said RPD. The officer’s investigation revealed Goltz was also actively involved in the school burglary.

Based on his investigation, the officer arrested Meier and Goltz and both were transported to Shasta County Jail in Redding.

Brianna Meier and Jason Goltz were arrested last night after officers determined they had burglarized Reddings’ Boulder Creek School and later sold the stolen items for drugs, according to Redding PD.

Meier was booked on suspicion of burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary, possession of stolen property, and two warrants for failure to appear on previous charges of trespassing and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Goltz was booked on suspicion of burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary, possession of stolen property, and a probation violation.

A jail records search revealed Meier remains in custody in lieu of $15,000 bail, and Goltz remains in custody without bail.

Trevor has been married for more than 28 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and his “fluid family” includes 13 children and 15 – but soon to be 16 – grandchildren.
