Enjoy a good laugh with Murrieta PD’s Weekly Roundup 1/3

From Murrieta PD Facebook

– When you’re parked behind a business at 2:00 a.m., you’re going to get an officer’s attention. #whyareyoulurkinginthedark When Officer Hom contacted Austin Enochs, Austin tried to perform some magic and make a bag he had in his hands disappear. #abracadabra But Austin was no David Copperfield and Officer Hom saw the bag of heroin fall to the ground. #keeppracticing Austin spent the rest of the night in #CBDC.

– Don’t you hate it when you get pulled over and you have a suspended driver’s license? #UGH Don’t worry, Melissa Stinner didn’t have to walk home after her car was towed. She was taken to #thebyrdhouse for her six outstanding warrants.

– Officer Martin (and Duke of course) responded to a shopping center regarding a suspicious male walking around the parking lot looking into vehicles. #lockyourcars Officer Martin quickly located David Garcia and contacted him as he tried to leave the area. Apparently David already knew that he was on Santa’s naughty list because he was less than cordial with Officer Martin, especially when Officer Martin found his meth and heroin. FYI – Santa doesn’t deliver to #thebyrdhouse.

– We all know that #nothinggoodhappensaftermidnight and that’s why Officer Valle likes to work nights. If there’s trouble, she’ll find it. #gingerpowersactivate She ran into Kalen Kornfeind at 1:50 a.m. and discovered that not only was he on parole, but he had an outstanding felony warrant as well. #doublewhammy He was taken to #CBDC.

– Christmas Day, Officer Baker responded to a disturbance in the Mapleton’s. The caller stated that a male was yelling and acting odd. #whyyoutrippin Officer Baker located Robert Bond and found that he was not only under the influence, but also had an outstanding felony warrant. Robert spent the rest of Christmas in jail.

– Remember that scene in Old School where Will Ferrell ran around naked? #weregoingstreaking It was hilarious! It’s not so funny when a guy does that in broad daylight in Town Square Park. Michael Keen ended up in the front lobby of the Police Station #bucknaked and was detained by officers. Michael was found to be under the influence and taken to #thebyrdhouse. #dontdodrungs #mmmkay

– John Baxter was contacted just after midnight in his vehicle which is no big deal, he’s an adult. The only problem was his felony warrant. #doh

– Drugs and warrants seem to be the theme for the last few weeks of 2018. David Gastelum and Lisa Castillo jumped on that band wagon. #notagoodbandwagon Not to be left out, Mary Sheahan was arrested for her felony warrant and her counterparts were cited out for their drugs. #everybodyisonthebandwagon #thewrongbandwagon

– A hazard of breaking into vehicles is getting caught. Not necessarily by the police, but by the owner of the vehicle you were seen on video taking items from. #lockyourcars John Appel was confronted by the owner of the vehicle and, long story short, the police showed up and John went to #thebyrdhouse.

– Officers contacted Dave Thompson and Kenneth Walker during a traffic stop. Dave had two outstanding warrants and Kenneth had seven. Seriously, take care of your warrants and you won’t keep going to jail. #handleyourbusiness

– Officer Hernandez conducted a traffic stop Saturday night and contacted Patricia Pena and Carlo Brol. Ms. Pena and Mr. Brol were found to be in possession of narcotics and paraphernalia. #youdontsay While Officer Hernandez was conducting his investigation, he located several checks that didn’t belong to anyone in the car. #saywhat The rightful owner of the checks informed the officer that their checks had been stolen from the mail. #9pmroutine #thisiswhy The duo were taken to #thebyrdhouse to ring in their new year.

– An observant citizen called us on Sunday night to report that he was watching a male attempt to steal a bicycle from the front of a store. The caller told dispatch that male cut the lock off of the bicycle and rode away. #dude #thatsnotyours Corporal Abbate located the thieving bicyclist and discovered that it was Lorenzo Saldivar. Corporal Abbate was familiar with Lorenzo and after their reunion, he returned the bike to the owner and took Lorenzo to jail.

– Officer Martin conducted a traffic stop at 3:15 Wednesday morning and contacted David Warren and his friends. Unfortunately for David, he had an outstanding warrant for violating his parole. #Ihateitwhenthathappens David was taken to #CBDC and his friends were released at the scene. I’m pretty sure that if he would have been at home instead of cruising the streets of Murrieta in the middle of the night he wouldn’t be in jail. #nothinggoodhappensaftermidnight

  • Mr. Montgomery,
You seem to think substance abuse is funny. Last year we lost more than 100,000 young people to opiates….and you’re making jokes? You were an officer for Christ sake! You signed up to protect and serve your community! The oath you took was sacred!… And now you laugh at that community??? You are vile, Mr. Montgomery! Have you no sympathy or understanding for those of us sitting up at night, worrying over our heroin addicted children? You think our fears are the punch line to a bad joke? Have you no concern for the health and well being of substance abusers? Most importantly, IS YOUR ATTITUDE REPRESENTATIVE OF OFFICERS CURRENTLY SERVING MY COMMUNITY? Mr. Montgomery, I’m ashamed of you. You ought be ashamed of yourself! I’m going to tell you something, Mr. Enochs may not be a skilled magician, but he’s a decent person. He’s a better and more ethical man than you; that is certain! I’m pretty sure Austin will become my son in law one day. I’m rooting for him, and my daughter too. I know they will make it. Both of them are so smart, so charming, and kind, and good at heart. They will be ok. … But you, sir, are a worthless fool, without an ounce of humanity on display. You disgust me. Austin has a substance abuse problem; He has some justification for his lack of good judgement. WHAT IS YOUR EXCUSE, MR. MONTGOMERY? WHY SHOULD WE EXCUSE YOUR UGLY HEART? HOW DO YOU JUSTIFY LAUGHING AT OUR DYING CHILDREN?????

    • Hi Molly,

While I share these posts from Murrieta PD, I do not write them. Your complaint would be better directed to MPD.

      Best wishes,
      -TM

      • I have complained plenty to them, too . You republish this crap. I will ask my questions more pointedly. Mr. Montgomery, last year we lost roughly 100,000 people to overdose . Why should we laugh about substance abuse with Murrieta PD? What’s so funny about dead children?

        • I have a couple more questions. Why does the Riverside County Sheriff’s Dept. refuse to disclose records relating to officer misconduct as ordered by the court? Why do officers find it reasonable to make public the criminal misconduct of the average citizen, but feel their own bad deeds ought never come to light? Also, why haven’t the names of Riverside County officers who either resigned or were fired for misuse of CLETS been published? Lastly, why was Officer Duffy allowed to continue in his capacity as a youth outreach officer after allegations of molestation were made against him? Why not publish those incident reports (obviously with redacted names)? Why are the Duffy reports, which contain allegations of a serious nature, still under lock and key? I want to know why officers refuse to publish about their own criminal misconduct, yet feel it perfectly fine to publish everyone else’s arrests? I want to know why arrests are published in a fashion which most certainly implies guilt? Are not these defendants still innocent in the eyes of the court? What’s with the special rules for law enforcement? Why are those persons who took a sacred oath to uphold the law immune to public inquest?
