Multi-vehicle SJ collision slows morning commuters
SAN JACINTO — Minor injuries were reported after a three-vehicle traffic collision in San Jacinto this morning, Wednesday, Feb. 13. The accident, which caused minor delays for morning commuters and other motorists, happened at the intersection of Ramona Expressway and San Jacinto St.

San Jacinto PD and Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire were dispatched to the crash around 7:45a.m., after receiving reports of a multiple-vehicle accident with unknown injuries. Because of the number of vehicles involved a second AMR ambulance crew was initially dispatched to the scene; however it was not ultimately needed.
When officials arrived they found three vehicles stopped in the middle of the intersection, with vehicle parts and debris strewn across all lanes of traffic.
Two of the vehicles in the intersection, described as a light-colored sedan and white commercial pickup truck, appeared to have collided and both had minor to moderate damage. A black Toyota Tundra was also stopped in the intersection, but did not appear to have been involved in the collision.
Another vehicle, described as a grey sedan with heavy front-end damage, was stopped nearby in the lanes of traffic. The heavily damaged car was facing the wrong way in the eastbound lanes of the expressway.
While deputies investigated the cause of the collision, paramedics evaluated and treated the vehicles’ occupants. Witnesses later said none reported any serious injuries.
Because of the extensive road blockage, deputies called for the temporary closure of the intersection and all traffic was diverted away from the accident scene. Officials reopened the intersection after the wrecked vehicles were cleared from the scene.
San Jacinto PD’s collision investigation is ongoing.

During his time with the sheriff’s department, Trevor worked at several different stations; including Robert Presley Detention Center, Southwest Station in Temecula, Hemet/Valle Vista Station, Ben Clark Public Safety Training Center, and Lake Elsinore Station; along with other locations.
Trevor’s assignments included Corrections, Patrol, DUI Enforcement, Boat and Personal Water-Craft based Lake Patrol, Off-Road Vehicle Enforcement, Problem Oriented Policing Team, and Personnel/Background Investigations. He finished his career while working as a Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigator and was a court-designated expert in child abuse and child sex-related crimes.
Trevor has been married for more than 28 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and his “fluid family” includes 13 children and 15 – but soon to be 16 – grandchildren.
