Pedestrian crossing Florida Ave hit, hospitalized
HEMET — A pedestrian was hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle while jaywalking across Florida Ave, Saturday evening, Feb. 23. Last night’s accident happened in front of Quality Inn, in the 1200 block of W. Florida Ave., near Hamilton Ave.

One hospitalized after Hemet fight, shooting
City of Hemet Police and Fire Departments, along with other emergency personnel, were dispatched to the scene around 6:10 p.m., after receiving reports of a vehicle that struck a pedestrian. 911 callers reported the victim was not moving and was down in the roadway.
When officials arrived they found the victim, who was transported to Hemet Valley Hospital for further treatment of unspecified injuries. The victim’s current condition was not immediately available.
The driver who struck the pedestrian remained at the scene and was cooperating with Hemet PD’s collision investigation. It was not immediately known if alcohol or drug intoxication were contributing factors in the accident.
During their subsequent investigation, officers called for the temporary closure of the westbound lanes of Florida Ave. and all traffic was diverted away from the accident scene.
Hemet PD’s investigation is ongoing.

Trevor’s assignments included Corrections, Patrol, DUI Enforcement, Boat and Personal Water-Craft based Lake Patrol, Off-Road Vehicle Enforcement, Problem Oriented Policing Team, and Personnel/Background Investigations. He finished his career while working as a Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigator and was a court-designated expert in child abuse and child sex-related crimes.
Trevor has been married for more than 28 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and his “fluid family” includes 13 children and 15 – but soon to be 16 – grandchildren.
