BREAKING/EXCLUSIVE: Evidence possibly links pair to numerous recent Intermountain area burglaries

While doing research for an updated article about last month’s burglary of Montgomery Creek’s Post Office, Shasta County News Source (SCNS) located a “wanted” poster dated June 28, 2018, that depicted two suspects caught on CCTV surveillance footage burglarizing the Montgomery Creek Market.

While comparing surveillance stills from last year’s market burglary with surveillance footage of last month’s Post Office burglary, SCNS noticed distinct similarities between the two suspects believed to have burglarized the Montgomery Creek Market, with two suspects believed to have burglarized the nearby Montgomery Creek Post Office.

After conducting a thorough photo analysis, SCNS determined that the suspects filmed during both burglaries had similar builds, were both wearing blue latex gloves, were both wearing masks – including a mask from the Predator movie, and were both wearing hoodies, as well as Vans brand clothing and shoes.

While these similarities are circumstantial, they strongly indicate that the persons responsible for the recent Post Office burglary may have also been responsible for last year’s burglary at Montgomery Creek Market.

Furthermore, surveillance stills from last year’s market burglary showed one of the two alleged suspects carrying a DeWalt drill, which had distinctive markings and coloring. That drill was later positively identified as having been stolen during one of three separate burglaries that took place over a six month period at Mountain Christian Academy, in the area of 299E and Sand Pit Rd., in Cassel.

During the first of the three different burglaries at MCA, which happened around Halloween, 2017, burglars stole more than $10,000 worth of Dewalt tools. One of those stolen tools included the previously mentioned drill, according to a member of the burglary victims’ family, who were interviewed for this article but requested to remain anonymous at this time.

During the second burglary, which occurred about a month later around Thanksgiving, 2017, thieves made off with a jackhammer and gas powered air compressor, along with other valuable tools and items.

The third MCA theft happened around March, 2018, when thieves stole the tires and rims off a sandrail at the location.

Based on the photo analysis completed by SCNS, it would appear that all five of the aforementioned burglaries could be connected to the same two suspects.

Based on those findings and discoveries, SCNS immediately contacted Shasta County Sheriff’s Office and provided them with this new and potentially vital information.

No arrests have been made in any of the five burglary cases yet, but officials, victims, and citizens alike, are hoping that the newly released surveillance footage, along with the previously released wanted poster with surveillance stills, as well as the similarities between the alleged suspects, could lead to the apprehension of the pair likely involved in all five of the burglaries.

Shasta County Sheriff’s Burney Mountain Station deputies are still actively investigating all five incidents and have asked that anyone with information about any of the cases, or who recognizes or knows either of the two primary suspects seen in the surveillance footage to contact Shasta County Sheriff Deputy Tim Estes at (530) 245-6070.
