A deputy assigned to Shasta County Sheriff’s Burney Mountain Station conducted a traffic enforcement stop on a pickup truck around 5:40 p.m., according to official radio traffic. The driver pulled into the Safeway parking lot at the intersection of Main St. and Mountain View Rd.
While checking the records of the vehicle’s occupants, the deputy learned two of the people, a man and woman, had multiple warrants for their arrests.
Gloria Nettie Winn Lopez, who had several felony and misdemeanor warrants, was subsequently arrested. The male, who had two misdemeanor warrants, was also arrested. Winn Lopez was previously featured in an SCNS article about a couple who was apprehended and arrested during Cassel burglary. However, it was not immediately known what her felony and misdemeanor warrants were related to.
Deputies cited and released the male for his misdemeanor warrants before transporting Winn Lopez to Shasta County Jail in Redding, where she was booked on her unspecified warrants.
No citizens or officials were injured during the traffic stop and arrests.
