Two hospitalized after Jurupa Valley shooting
JURUPA VALLEY — Authorities are investigating a Jurupa Valley shooting that reportedly sent two people to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries last night, Tuesday, March 19. No arrests have been made since the shooting, which happened in the 6400 block of Smith Ave., southeast of Wineville and Limonite avenues.

Deputies assigned to Jurupa Valley Police Department, along with other emergency personnel, responded to the area around 8:15 p.m., after receiving reported of a shooting, InlandNews reported as the investigation was getting underway.
When officials arrived they reportedly found two men suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Deputies quickly cordoned off the area, designating parts of the residential street a crime scene. Investigators and specialists from the department’s Forensic Services Unit were summoned to the scene to assist with the investigation.
They were later observed documenting, photographing, and collecting, evidence from the scene, including shell casings and what appeared to be a small-caliber or realistic-looking pellet or BB gun, which was found near the middle of the street.
As of last night, no suspects were in custody and sheriff’s officials have not yet released any information about their investigation, which is active and ongoing.

Trevor’s assignments included Corrections, Patrol, DUI Enforcement, Boat and Personal Water-Craft based Lake Patrol, Off-Road Vehicle Enforcement, Problem Oriented Policing Team, and Personnel/Background Investigations. He finished his career while working as a Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigator and was a court-designated expert in child abuse and child sex-related crimes.
Trevor has been married for more than 28 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and his “fluid family” includes 13 children and 15 – but soon to be 16 – grandchildren.
