Investigation continuing after deadly Menifee shooting
MENIFEE — Very few details have been released after a victim was fatally shot in Menifee last night, Saturday, June 1. Nobody has been arrested and the sheriff’s investigation is continuing after the deadly shooting, which happened in the 29000 block of Light Sails Court, near Twin Leaf Way, in Menifee’s Heritage Lake community.

Victim, 27, ID’d after fatal San Jacinto motorcycle crash
Deputies assigned to Menifee Police Department were dispatched to the residential neighborhood around 9:50 p.m., after receiving reports of a shooting, Deputy Mike Vasquez later reported.
When deputies arrived they found an adult male who had been shot. The victim was rushed to an area hospital where he later passed away, according to Vasquez. The victim’s name has not been released yet, pending further investigation and notification of the man’s family.

Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit and Menifee PD investigators responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. As the investigation was getting underway, officials were seen going door to door, seeking witnesses or anyone who may have had information related to the deadly incident. Forensic Service Bureau technicians were also observed searching for, documenting, and collecting various items of potential evidence.
As of this report, nobody had been apprehended and the shooting investigation is ongoing.

Trevor’s assignments included Corrections, Patrol, DUI Enforcement, Boat and Personal Water-Craft based Lake Patrol, Off-Road Vehicle Enforcement, Problem Oriented Policing Team, and Personnel/Background Investigations. He finished his career while working as a Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigator and was a court-designated expert in child abuse and child sex-related crimes.
Trevor has been married for more than 28 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and his “fluid family” includes 13 children and 15 – but soon to be 16 – grandchildren.
