Domenigoni rollover crash kills Hemet man, 50
HEMET — A 50-year-old man from Hemet died after his vehicle slammed into a traffic signal pole and overturned this morning, Tuesday, June 25. The fatal crash happened at the intersection of Domenigoni Parkway and Leon Rd.

CHP and other emergency personnel were alerted to the deadly crash shortly after 7:30 a.m., after witnesses reported a solo-vehicle rollover accident involving a dark grey SUV that struck a traffic light pole and overturned. 911 callers reported vehicle parts and debris were left scattered across the roadway and that the driver was seriously injured and possibly trapped inside the mangled wreckage of his vehicle.
When officials began arriving a few minutes after the call was dispatched, they reported finding the westbound number two and three lanes blocked. Rescuers also confirmed the driver and sole occupant from the wrecked and overturned vehicle was trapped and would need to be physically extricated from the heavily-damaged SUV.
At around 8 a.m., officials at the scene updated that the driver, who had been wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, had succumbed to his injuries and passed away at the scene. The victim’s name has not yet been released, pending notification of the man’s family.
During their crash investigation, CHP Officer Forbes determined that just before the crash, the victim had been driving a 2015 Mazda 5 SUV westbound on Domenigoni Parkway approaching Leon Rd.
“For reasons yet to be determined the driver allowed his vehicle to leave the roadway as he was traversing the intersection,” Forbes later explained. “The Mazda traveled over the concrete curb on the northwest side of the intersection and collided with the signal light pole.”
The impact caused the SUV to overturn, and it eventually came to rest in a dirt field, northwest of the intersection, according to Forbes.
No other vehicles were involved in the collision, and the signal light pole was damaged but remained upright and operational.
Alcohol and/or drugs have not been ruled out as contributing factors in the cause of this collision and CHP’s investigation is ongoing.

He finished his career while working as a Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigator and was a court-designated expert in child abuse and child sex-related crimes.
Trevor has been married for more than 28 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and his “fluid family” includes 13 children and 15 – but soon to be 16 – grandchildren.
