At around 12:45 am, an officer was on routine patrol in the area of White Hawk Estates. While in the 3900 block of Teton Dr, the officer spotted a man “prowling the neighborhood” and acting suspiciously, Redding Police Sgt. Sam Llamas later reported.

When the officer attempted to make contact with the suspect, later identified as Richard Steven Siscogreendale, 28, of Cottonwood, he fled the area on foot.

Despite Siscogreendale’s attempt to elude the officer, the official was able to locate the probationer as he attempted to hide near the porch area of a residence in the neighborhood.

As the officer attempted to take Siscogreendale into custody, the alleged suspect fought with the officer, who was forced to deploy “less-lethal” options, including pepper spray and a Taser to apprehend the man, according to Llamas.

During a subsequent search, officers discovered Siscogreendale was on Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS probation) and was in possession of of burglary tools.

Based on their investigation, officers arrested Siscogreendale and he was booked into Shasta County Jail on suspicion of prowling, resisting arrest, possession of burglary tools, and violation of probation.
