Search ongoing for man after alleged Mt. Shasta stabbing
MT. SHASTA — Authorities yesterday asked for the public’s help locating a man they allege stabbed another man in the chest during a Mt. Shasta fight Saturday evening, July 27. The non-fatal stabbing happened outside a private home on the 200 block of Sheldon Ave., in a residential neighborhood northeast of Ream Ave. and Old McCloud Rd.

Mt. Shasta Police and Fire Departments were first alerted to the incident around 10:45 p.m., after receiving reports of a stabbing that had just occurred outside a residence.
When officers arrived they found 36-year-old, Jaime Miller, suffering from a stab wound and bleeding from the chest.
Miller was transported by ground ambulance to Mercy Medical Center, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, according to officials. He has since been released and is recovering from his injuries.
During their subsequent investigation, officers learned from Miller that a man identified as 48-year-old, Michael Lee Wilson had threatened him the day before; stating that he was, “going to get him,” officials explained.
Miller said Wilson then came to his house on the following night at about 10:35 p.m. and challenged him to fight. Miller accepted Wilson’s challenge and exited his home, where the pair began fighting.
“After the two started fighting, Wilson produced a knife and stabbed Miller in the chest area,” explained officials, who now say they are searching for Wilson and that the man is facing attempted murder and other charges.
Wilson is a Black male who stands about 5-foot-10 and weighs about 215 lbs. He is considered armed and dangerous and officials have cautioned that anyone who knows the man’s whereabouts or who spots him in public not to approach him, but call 911 or the Mt. Shasta Police Department at (530) 926-7540. Callers can remain anonymous.

Trevor’s assignments included Corrections, Patrol, DUI Enforcement, Boat and Personal Water-Craft based Lake Patrol, Off-Road Vehicle Enforcement, Problem Oriented Policing Team, and Personnel/Background Investigations. He finished his career while working as a Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigator and was a court-designated expert in child abuse and child sex-related crimes.
Trevor has been married for more than 28 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and his “fluid family” includes 13 children and 15 – but soon to be 16 – grandchildren.
