Man with loaded, sawed-off shotgun arrested in Jones Valley
REDDING — A man with multiple warrants for possession of a loaded firearm in public, possession of a controlled substance, and other charges, was arrested after he was once again found to be in possession of a loaded and illegally modified shotgun, as well as drug paraphernalia, late Saturday evening, Aug. 24.

Last night’s arrest happened around 11 p.m., in the Jones Valley area, north of Redding and south of Shasta Lake’s Pit River Arm, Shasta County Sheriff’s Sgt. Scoma reported after the incident that led to the alleged suspect’s apprehension.
A Shasta County sheriff’s deputy was patrolling the Jones Valley area when he spotted a vehicle parked along the side of Dry Creek Rd. near Silverthorn Rd.
“Due to the circumstances, time of night, and the close proximity of residences, the deputy began to investigate further,” said Scoma.

After exiting his patrol vehicle, the deputy soon observed a man, later identified as Quinton Lee Henderson, 22, of Shasta County, walking toward the parked vehicle.
When the deputy announced himself, he saw Henderson discard a firearm into the ditch on the side of the road, according to Scoma.
The deputy detained Henderson without incident and a records check revealed the man had five outstanding warrants for his arrest; including warrants for possession of a loaded firearm in public, possession of a controlled substance, and three warrants for vehicle code violations.
A subsequent search of Henderson was then conducted, at which time the deputy discovered Henderson was also in possession of drug paraphernalia.
The deputy then recovered the discarded firearm, a loaded shotgun with an illegally modified and sawed-off barrel, he had seen Henderson discard into the ditch.
Based on the investigation, the deputy arrested Henderson and he was booked into Shasta County Jail for his outstanding warrants, as well as the new charges of possession of a short-barreled shotgun and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Trevor has been married for more than 28 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and his “fluid family” includes 13 children and 15 – but soon to be 16 – grandchildren.
