Officials investigating murder at Perris home

PERRIS — Authorities are investigating the murder of a man they say happened at private residence on the 27000 block of Lemon Ave., in an unincorporated area of Perris, Sunday, Oct. 6. According to officials an illegal marijuana cultivation operation was occurring at the residence where the victim was killed.

Deputies from Perris Station responded to the home shortly after 7 p.m., after receiving reports of a shooting at the residence, Riverside Sheriff’s Sgt. Wallace Clear has since reported.

“Deputies arrived at the scene and located a deceased adult male who was the apparent victim of a shooting,” Wallace explained. “The location was deemed an illegal marijuana cultivation site.”

The victim’s name has not been released, pending further investigation and notification of the man’s family.

Based on the circumstances, Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit and Perris Station investigators responded to the scene and assumed the investigation, which is active and ongoing at this time.

Officials have not released any further details regarding their continuing investigation.

He finished his career while working as a Sex Crimes and Child Abuse Investigator and was a court-designated expert in child abuse and child sex-related crimes.

Trevor has been married for more than 29 years and was a foster parent to more than 60 children over 13 years. He is now an adoptive parent and his “fluid family” includes 13 children and 15 – but soon to be 16 – grandchildren.
