Group “pistol whipped”, one shot, during Oak Run home invasion

OAK RUN — Authorities are investigating a reported home invasion robbery in Oak Run that left one person with head injuries from being “pistol whipped” and another with a gunshot wound to the leg early Friday morning, October 25.

Despite “several inconsistent stories of what had happened,” sheriff’s officials have said they are are now trying to piece together the series of events that occurred during the violent incident, which happened on the 30200 block of  Frontier Rd.

Shasta County sheriff’s deputies were first alerted to the home invasion robbery and reports of a shooting just before 2 a.m., Shasta County Sheriff’s Sgt. Kyle Wallace reported after the incident.

“During the ensuing investigation, deputies learned several masked subjects entered the property … at about 1 a.m.,” Wallace explained. “The masked subjects confronted four victims while ransacking the property.”

During the home invasion, “one victim was ‘pistol whipped’ causing an injury to his head and another victim was shot in his lower leg causing a grazing type wound,” Wallace continued. “The four victims were then bound with electrical cords and placed into a dilapidated outbuilding.”

A short time later, the suspects left the property, at which time the four victims managed to free themselves from their restraints and call 911 to report the incident.

The injured victims received medical treatment at the scene but refused further medical treatment, according to Wallace.

Due to “several inconsistent stories of what had happened,” deputies have not been able to identify how many masked subjects there were or what property was taken, explained the Sgt.

Officials are continuing to investigate the incident and have asked that anyone with further information about their ongoing investigation to contact Shasta County Sheriff’s Office at (530) 245-6540. Callers can refer to incident file number 19S039492 and can remain anonymous.
